Dr. Cyril H. Wecht is a Nationally-Acclaimed Forensic Pathologist, Attorney and Medical-Legal Consultant with over 40 years of experience. He has spent the majority of his life seeking truth and justice for some of the world’s greatest mysteries, from the deaths of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Elvis Presley to the mysteries surrounding JonBenet Ramsey, Chandra Levy, Laci Peterson, Casey Anthony and many more.
Dr. Wecht is certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic, clinical and forensic pathology and is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. He is a Clinical Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine and Graduate School of Public Health and also holds positions as an Adjunct Professor at Duquesne University School of Law, School of Pharmacy, and School of Health Sciences. He has authored over 550 professional publications, including comprehensive studies of cases from his own perspective and professional involvement.
Enlightening, engaging and entertaining, Dr. Wecht has made countless TV appearances, and his expertise has been utilized in high-profile cases involving Mary Jo Kopechne, Sunny von Bulow, Jean Harris, Dr. Jeffrey McDonald, the Waco Branch Davidian fire and Vincent Foster. He has served as a medical-legal and forensic pathology consultant in civil and criminal cases for decades and been consulted by both plaintiffs and defense attorneys in civil cases, and by prosecutors and defense attorneys in criminal cases. Dr. Wecht performs private autopsies at the request of families and attorneys, and is the forensic pathologist for the Pennsylvania counties of Armstrong, Clarion, Fayette, Greene and Westmoreland.
